Mr. Mercedes – Stephen King – review
By Rajinder B

The opening of this book is quite memorable, starts off with a guy runs people over in line. Story is about Brady is working a dead end job in an electronics store, and an ice cream truck driver. Hodges character can be quite overboisterous, while Jerome being African is good to see a variation, and Holly a bit slower.

The book reads like a CSI show, which is really good, some good lines from Stephen King

“Every religion lies. Every moral precept is an delusion. Even the stars are a mirage. The truth is darkness, and the only thing that matters is making a statement before one enters it. Cutting the skin of the world and leaving a scar. That’s all history is, after all: scar tissue.” ― Steven King

There are no fantasy elements, just a detective novel. It was fast paced and a really good read. There is another two books in the series, I haven’t read. Though I heard that the second one is Hodges, Jerome and Holly solving cases, while the third one Brady returns. Looks like they are making a TV show out of it too:

A recommended read if you like Stephen King’s work, but with a more CSI/detective aspect.
